Think chicken noodle soup, chicken and dumplings, chicken pot pie. The fat is a gorgeous yellow and the meat is bursting with flavor. Your grandma would recognize this as chicken. Does not include giblets; order those separately. One chicken/pack; average pack size is 3.08# with a range of 2.0 - 4.0# per pack. Our chickens are a dual purpose (eggs & meat) heritage breed Wyandotte with gold or silver feathers and slaughtered between 16-22 weeks. They are moved daily on pasture and supplemented with Certified Organic grain. MDARD slaughter. Pastured meat tends to cook 20% faster due to the lower ratio of omega 6:3 (just like olive oil smokes faster than vegetable shortening). Best used braised in dishes like Coq Au Vin.
